BURKE'S STORY

"My mission in life is to put my God-given talents to good use every day; to improve my relationship with God, my family and my friends; and to give back more than I take."
-Burke Hedges

Burke Hedges has had to adapt to circumstances out of his control his entire life. He watched his parents as they were stripped of their fortune and forced out of their own country, Cuba, only to have to start all over again in Jamaica and then again in Ecuador, South America. Burke experienced the heartbreak of his father’s
death at age 13. He’s had business success and business failures. Despite his unfortunate circumstances, he has come away with an attitude that it’s not about what happens to you, but rather what you make of it.
Burke has learned from his life’s lessons and gone on to lecture around the globe on leadership, entrepreneurship and now on how to become a Servant Soul -- to be the change you want to see in your life, in your job, in your community and in your world. He has written 8 books including “Read and Get Rich”, and “You, Inc.”. His books have sold over 4 million copies and have been translated into over 20 languages
worldwide.

Although “The Servant Soul” is a work of fiction, it was inspired by a true life tragedy when Burke’s brother, Dayton, flew to Tampa for the baptism of Burke’s daughter, Aspen. On the return trip home, Dayton’s plane crashed and he was killed. Wanting to memorialize his brother’s life, Burke wrote The Servant Soul. The wisdom in books has changed Burke’s life and his passion is to enrich other people’s lives. His personal mission statement is, “to put my God-given talents to good use every day; to improve my relationship with God, my family and friends; and to give back more than I take.”
